Advanced Choreo Debut with Veil, Multi-Tonal Cymbals & Floorwork
I have always loved the song "Baladna" by Amina and Hisham. This choreo interweaves multi-tonal combinations by maestra April Rose, resulting in a tapestry that I'm proud to perform as my arrangement (Carnival of Stars 2026).
Big thanks to April Rose, who taught me how to play multi-tonal finger cymbals and play the frame drum while dancing. I'm honored to be a certified teacher through her brilliant Dance Cohesion program, and I look forward to being a lifelong learner!
“Your technique and finger cymbals are absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait for the moment that we get to dance together and drum together in person. I would just be so so so thrilled to share the stage with you.” ~April Rose
You can learn rhythms and multi-tonal cymbals too! Stephanie has created a program that will teach ALL LEVELS how to play finger cymbals and clap/snap (in lieu of a drum) as a musician would. By the end of the program, you'll have learned the fundamental steps of playing while dancing 8 of the most commonly seen rhythms, and you can learn online in the time and place of your choosing!
By the end of the series, you will have a foundational music-based understanding of 7 popular rhythms, from my perspective of a belly dancer. I am certified through April Rose's (aprilrose.dance/bio) Dance Cohesion program to dance while playing percussion. We'll learn dance moves, try improvisational exercises, and learn about the broader context in this comprehensive portfolio of 12 videos!
