Let the IMPROVISATION begin! I danced to live music by The Flairs at Gilded Raqs 2025, in my newest costume by Bella of Istanbul. For the first time, I danced while playing finger cymbals the way musicians play (matching the drum's Doum/Tek/Ka).

Almost no one has done more for the broad popularity of belly dancing than Shakira. She was absolutely amazing to see in concert: she sang, danced and connected with the audience for 2 hours straight. I feel very lucky that I was able to experience her unique stage charisma, and I wanted to share some of it with you in this video montage of clips I filmed at the concert.

If you're new to the concept, live music and improv dance create a fun and complex interplay between musicians and dancer. We unleashed our inner divas at the 2025 Galentine's Day celebration with our girlfriends!

Ariana, a certified makeup artist, worked her magic with specially themed palettes. Rachel, Alegria’s content creator extraordinaire, took headshots to commemorate our glow from the day. Stephanie, belly dance artist, taught a fun belly dance cardio workout. Best day ever with our besties!

Shimmies, cake, fun -- oh my! We got together for an afternoon of learning, connection, and inspiration in February 2025. Stephanie, a certified SharQui instructor, kicked off the afternoon with belly dance cardio. Sausan, creator of Egyptian Dance Code®, taught a mini crash course in Classic Egyptian-style belly dance. We closed out the festivities with a custom-designed cake and spicy performances by Stephanie (choreography by Leilah) and by Troupe Daira (it was the first performance for two new troupe members).
